Hannah Smith Tew was born 29 April 1811, died 11 February 1881 and buried 12 February 1881. She is the wife of Thomas Tew, Sr.










Nephi J. Roylance was born 25 December 1880, died 14 February 1881 and was buried 16 February 1881. He is the son of William and Lucy Clucas Roylance.











Aseph Irvin Van Leuvan was born 18 August 1880, died 10 March 1881 and was buried 11 March 1881 at 5:30 p.m. He is the son of Calvin and Janietta Blanchard Van Leuvan.




Esther Whiting was born 24 August 1874, died 31 March 1881 and buried 1 April 1881. She is the daughter of Albert Milton and Harriett Perry Whiting.

Reno Boyer was born 24 July 1880, died 2 June 1881 and buried 2 June 1881. He is the son of Francis and Elizabeth Devenish Boyer.









Louisa Groesbeck was born 31 August 1880, died 6 June 1881 and buried 7 June 1881. She is the daughter of Nicholas Harmon and Mary Sanderson Groesbeck. Louisa died while her father was serving a mission in New Zealand.



Joseph Franklin Cherrington was born 4 September 1879, died 8 June 1881 and was buried 9 June 1881. Joseph fell into a well and was drowned. His parents are Joseph and Prudence Straw Cherrington. He was one year and nine months old. 










Solomon Chase Miner was born 22 October 1869, died 17 June 1881 and was buried 18 June 1881. He is the son of Moroni and Nancy Chase Miner.









Armenta Johnson was born 25 April 1881, died 23 August 1881 and was buried 24 August 1881. She is the daughter of Aaron and Celia Sanford Johnson.




Thomas Leroy Bird was born 15 April 1881, died 25 August 1881 and was buried 25 August 1881. Thomas is the son of Walter and Arabella Hailey Bird.

William Almon Finley was born 8 May 1879, died 26 August 1881 and buried 26 August 1881. He is the son of Almon and Mary Jane Chase Finley.






Sophronia Fullmer was born 17 January 1881, died 26 August 1881 and buried 28 August 1881. She is the daughter of Samuel David and Roxey Jane Kendall Fullmer.



Don Carlos Miner was born 15 June 1880, died 3 September 1881 and buried 4 September 1881. He was the son of Don Carlos and Ann Holden Miner.




William Albert Clegg was born 8 November 1880, died 
13 September 1881 and buried 15 September 1881. His grave site is unmarked.






Horace M. Alexander was born 15 February 1812, died 19 September 1881 and buried 20 September 1881.









Frank Beardall was born 7 July 1881, died 22 September 1881 and was buried 25 September 1881. Frank died at sundown. His father was away and the funeral was deferred a few days. He is the son of Frank and Mary Ann Herbert Beardall. 



Jessie Oglestone Ballinger was born 20 November 1824, died 31 December 1882 and buried 3 January 1882.













Alice Winifred Hatfield was born 3 November 1879, died 3 February 1882 and was buried 4 February 1882. Her parents are William and Rhoda Clements Hatfield.



Lodema May Cheney was born 30 October 1881, died 9 February 1882 and buried 10 February 1882. Her parents are David and Lodema Hutchings Cheney.



John William Huntington was born 24 September 1881, died 12 February 1882 and buried 13 February 1882. His parents are John A. and Sarah Banks Huntington.





Ann Leslie Thompson McDonald was born 14 July 1805, died 15 February 1882 and buried 18 February 1882. She was a good LDS.

Brothers William Bramhall and James Whitehead spoke at her funeral. John Boyer gave the opening prayer and James Whitehead dedicated the ground and corpse. The choir sang.



Willie Ray Nelson was born 3 September 1881, died 23 February 1882 and buried 28 February 1882. His parents are William Henry and Margaret Brown Nelson.



Barascio Blanchard was born 5 July 1880, died 24 February 1882 and buried 25 February 1882. His parents are Alma Moroni and Emily Pierce Blanchard.




Elmira Jenette Day Whitmore was born 7 April 1846, died 
7 March 1882 and buried 9 March 1882. She is the wife of Franklin P. Whitmore. Her body arrived by railroad at 11:30 a.m.

Her funeral services were held in the meeting house. Bishop William Bringhurst, W. J. Kelsey, O. B. Huntington and A. Noe made remarks of her life. She made a good record as a saint of God.

Walter Sumsion was born 13 August 1881, died 18 March 1882 and was buried 20 March 1882. He is the son of George and Ann Bird Sumsion. He was 7 months old.







Guy Fuller was born 20 October 1881, died 12 April 1882 and buried 14 March 1882. He is the son of Moroni and Eliza Wordsworth Fuller.



John Atkinson Grange was born 19 April 1881, died 3 May 1882 and buried 5 May 1882. He is the son of Samuel and Esther Stevenson Grange. John was one year old.





Julia Ann Richmond Harrington was born 8 May 1852, died 5 May 1882 and buried 7 May 1882. She died in childbirth. Julia is the wife of Jonathan Cyrus Harrington.



Irena Harrington was stillborn on 5 May 1882 and buried with her mother Julia [above] on 7 May 1882.





Mary Storrs was born 6 May 1882, died 6 May 1882 and buried 8 May 1882. She was the stillborn daughter of George Albert and Mary Lydia Kindred Storrs.













Daniel Sumsion was born 21 December 1810, died 10 May 1882 and buried 12 May 1882.








William Hardy Averett was born 24 December 1875, died 12 May 1882 and buried 13 May 1882. He is the son of Judathon [Tobias] and Alice Farnsworth Hardy.









Clara M. Perry was born 31 May 1877, died 15 May 1882 and buried 17 May 1882. She isthe daughter of John Sylvester and Evalyn Matsen Perry. She was five years old.




Allen Hilton Burch was born 1 December 1876, died 10 June 1882 and buried 10 June 1882. He was 5 1/2 years old. 




Adelia Elizabeth Menary was born 5 July 1882, died 7 July 1882 and buried on 12 July 1882. She is the daughter of J. R. and Marion Roylance Menary.




George Chase was born 17 February 1882, died 21 July 1882 and was buried on 21 July 1882. He is the son of Soloman and Ammie Jane Huntington Chase.




Charles Dowdell was born 11 December 1879. He was buried 18 August 1882. He is the son of James and Martha Kindred Dowdell. He was 2 years and 8 months old.




Winder child born in 1879 was buried 19 August 1882. He/she is the child of Thomas Winder. Age 3.






Sarah Dickens Gentry Stewart was born 24 February 1815, died 31 August 1882 and buried 2 September 1882. She is the wife of Jackson Stewart.











Smith Adelbert Miner was born 12 May 1882, died 13 September 1882 and buried 14 September 1882. He is the son of Don Carlos and Ann Eliza Holden Miner. He was a twin.





Daniel Crandall was born 25 September 1882, died 25 September 1882 and buried 27 September 1882. He is the son of Daniel Crandall.







Mary Ann Whiting was born 18 April 1828, died 11 October 1882 at 7:00 p.m. and buried 
2 October 1882. She is the wife of Edward Whiting.









Louisa L. Wilson was born 16 October 1882, died 16 October 1882 and buried 17 October 1882. She is the daughter of Taylor Wilson.

Henry Clucas was born 15 May 1805, died 17 October 1882 and buried 19 October 1882. He died in his 78th year. His wife is Elizabeth Martin.

Henry's services were held in the meeting house. Brothers F. C. Boyer and W. H. Kelsey spoke. A large number of friends were present.

Burials 1877-1880

Aaron Johnson was born 22 June 1806, died 10 May 1877 and was buried 11 May 1877. 

At his funeral service Brothers William Kelsey, Thomas Child, William Bromley, William Bramhall, F. C. Boyer and Bishop William Bringhurst spoke. 

He was a bishop who died at 71 years, 10 months, 18 days.

Asenith Curtis was born 22 February 1840, died 26 May 1878 and was buried 26 May 1878. 

She is the wife of Simmons Philander Curtis. Asenith died at 2 a.m. and was buried at 6 p.m. on 26 May 1878.

Lucy Celestia Morgan Wordsworth was born 6 March 1876, died 10 June 1878 and was buried on 11 June 1878. She is the daughter of William and Ellen Griffiths Wordsworth. Lucy died of drowning.



Tabitha Ann Wheeler was born 29 January 1878, died 23 August 1878 and was buried 24 August 1878. She is the daughter of Walter and Ellen Maria Child Wheeler.



Deseret Holdaway was buried on 1 October 1878.

Daniel Wood, known as Father Wood, was born on 27 June 1798, died 13 October 1878 and was buried 14 October 1878 at 11:00 a.m.

At his funeral service, Z. Coltrin and Lewis made appropriate remarks.

                                       Daniel is the step father to Amos Warren.




Richard Roylance was born 4 February 1874, died 15 May 1879. He died from choking. Richard is the son of Henry and Elizabeth Bell Roylance.






 Aseph Blanchard was born 3 October 1800, died 23 September 1879 and buried 25 September 1879. He struggled to breath and died at 8:00 p.m.

Funeral remarks were made by President William H. Bromley of the high priest quorum, and William H. Kelsey. Each testified to the faithfulness and integrity to the work of God. He was a good man. Came in an early day.





Arthur E. Sanford was born 5 September 1879, died 27 September 1879. He was also buried on 27 September 1879 a little before sundown. J. M. Clement's journal states his father is Farmer Sanford. The Utah State Burial records state his mother is Jane Cloward. [This may be an error.]




Martin V. Diamond was born 18 June 1873, died 26 September 1879 being run over by a wagon. He was buried 28 September 1879. Martin's parents are James and Spicer Ann Burton Diamond.

The child fell out of a wagon of potatoes--the front wheel passing over him. He lived just two hours after. Buried in the evening.





Emma Voyce was born 10 September 1876, died 19 November 1879 and buried 21 November 1879. Her parents are Alfred and Laura Fifield Voyce.



Mary Alice Groesbeck was born 10 November 1879, died 11 December 1879 and buried 21 November 1879. The graveside had 8 inches of snow. Mary's parents are Nicholas O. and Rosette Scovil Groesbeck.



Theo June Hall was born 24 June 1875, died 22 December 1879 and buried 23 December 1879. He was 4 and 1/2 years old. He is the son of George Washington and Mary Voletta Norley Hall.



Ernest Chester Blackett was born 21 November 1873, died 6 January 1880 and buried 7 January 1880. His parents are John William and Elizabeth Averett Blackett.



Abraham Cooper was born 28 September 1848, died 6 January 1880 and buried on 7 January 1880. His wife is Sarah Williams Cooper.



Elizabeth Adamson Wright [a widow] was born 12 March 1798, died 19 March 1880 and buried 20 March 1880. Snow in the graveyard was one foot deep. Her husband is James L. Wright.




William Warthen was born 2 October 1851, died 1 April 1880 and buried 
3 April 1880. His wife is Grace Shearer Warthen.



Swens Magnus Swenson was born 3 September 1837, died 4 April 1880 and buried 6 April 1880. His wife is Kjerstin Magnusson Swenson.

Simmons Philander Curtis was born 26 March 1818, died 10 April 1880 and buried 12 April 1880 at 5:00 p.m. Simmons died in bed. The coroner's report showed he died of heart disease.

John Tuckett was born 11 May 1880, died 15 May 1880 and buried 16 May 1880. He is the son of Joseph and Margaret Isaac Tuckett. John shares his headstone with three of his siblings.



John E. Dallin, Jr. was born 7 June 1854, died 16 May 1880 and buried 18 May 1880.

Henry Wheelan was born 15 January 1841, died 16 May 1800 and buried 19 May 1880. Henry had been living in California. Came here [Springville, Utah] for his health. He was an artist by profession.

Daniel Z. Thomas was born 9 July 1819, died 23 June 1880 and buried 27 June 1880.  D. Z. Thomas was brought from Payson to be buried in Springville per his request. He was a good man and faithful.

Choirs of Payson and Spanish Fork were present. The services were conducted by Brother George Hancock of Payson. Brothers Edwards of Goshen, Lewis of Spanish Fork and Bishop Bringhurst of Springville making suitable remarks.



Mary Stanisforth Watt was born 27 November 1801, died 3 July 1880 and buried 5 July 1880.




Elizabeth Thompson Loynd was born 27 November 1801, died 22 July 1880 and buried 24 July 1880 at 6:00 p.m. She was age 70 and is the wife of James Loynd.

Philo Dibble made remarks about the resurrection.











James H. Oakley, Jr. was born 25 August 1852, died 30 July 1880 and buried 31 July 1880 at 12:00 noon. James shot himself accidentally.





Child of Esli Stewart died between 30 July 1880 and 10 August 1880. John Moon Clements made remarks at the funeral.


Eleanor [Ellen] Spender Sumsion was born 15 May 1816, died 10 August 1880 and buried 12 August 1880. Ellen had a lingering sickness which lasted two years. She is the wife of Daniel Sumsion.

Her funeral services were held at the Daniel Sumsion home. Brothers C.D. Evans, William H. Kelsey and Bishop William Bringhurst made remarks. Brother William Bramhall dedicated the body and grave. F. C. Boyer opened with prayer. A choir sang at the house and at the graveyard.



George Burch was born 5 November 1819, died 17 September 1880 and buried 19 September 1880.
