Burials 1883-1884

John Owen Deal was born 23 September 1879, died 4 January 1883 and buried 4 January 1883. His parents are Daniel Edgar and Nancy Jane Clark Deal.

Abigail Thorne Robertson was born 14 July 1845, died 7 January 1883 and buried 9 January 1883.  She is the wife of Alexander Robertson.

Her funeral was held at the meeting house. Brothers F. C. Boyer and W. H. Kelsey spoke. A large number of friends were present.








Emma Jane Whiting was born 7 April 1882, died 28 January 1883 and buried 29 January 1883. She is the daughter of Lucius and Ann Buckley Whiting.

Ozias Strong was born 14 January 1828, died 7 February 1883 and buried 10 February 1883. His wife is Mary Elizabeth Mendenhall.

A large procession followed him to the cemetery. He was the presiding deacon in Springville, also a high priest. A very faithful man and full of integrity to the cause of God and very respected.

William Bringhurst was born 8 November 1818, died 17 February 1883 and buried 20 February 1883. His wives are Ann Dilworth Strong and Ellen Wiscombe Strong.

He was a bishop in Springville. He was a faithful man to his calling as bishop--punctual to his appointments and true to his integrity and the cause of truth.

A large concourse of people followed his funeral procession--the largest that has yet been in Springville. Many relatives, friends and prominent men in the Church of bishops and presiding officers being present. The meeting                                       house full to overflowing.




Nelson child was born 27 February 1883, died 27 February 1883 and buried 28 February 1883. His parents are Henry and Emma Brown Nelson.




Mark R. Hall was born 18 April 1883, died 18 April 1883 and buried 20 April 1883. His parents are Lucian and Sarah Jane Timbrel Hall.





Albert Clements was born 19 March 1801, died 20 April 1883 and buried 23 April 1883. His wife is Aidah Winchell Clements. He was 82 years old.












Julia Harriet Huntington was born 16 November 1882, died 2 May 1883 and buried 2 May 1883. Her parents are George and Julia Snelson Huntington.

 Lucian Delancy Crandall was born 23 June 1832, died 26 June 1884 and buried 7 July 1884. He wife is Mary Ann Wixom.

He was a citizen of Springville who worked for the railroad in Canada [Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada] where he died. He was a large man.

Thomas Child offered the prayer at the funeral services.

 Anna Maria Hulet Perry was born 11 December 1817, died 27 July 1884 and buried 28 July 1884. She is the wife of Stephen Chadwick Perry.

She is a very good and faithful latter-day saint and also wife and mother. Her funeral services were held at the meeting house.











Eva McKenzie was born 16 August 1883, died 5 August 1884 and buried 7 August 1884. Her parents are George and Elizabeth Wood McKenzie. She was 12 months old.








Elizabeth Hughes Webb was born 2 August 1829, died 31 August 1884. She is the wife of Edwin Webb.












Ira James Dalton was born 23 June 1884, died 1 October 1884 and buried 5 October 1884. He is the son of Joseph and Mary Holmes Dalton. Ira died in Richfield, Sevier, Utah while traveling from Arizona.





Joseph G. Robinson was born 14 December 1821, died 9 October 1884 and buried 11 October 1884. His wife is Sarah Hutchinson Robinson.

He dropped dead of heart disease without speaking .

His funeral ceremonies were performed at the meeting house. He was a faithful latter-day saint.

William Jackson Stewart was born 19 December 1814, died 5 December 1884 and buried 7 December 1884. His wife is Sarah Dickens Gentry Stewart. 

He was the father to Uel S. Stewart. He was an old member in the Church.






Lawrence Blackett was born 29 December 1884, died 30 December 1884 and buried 31 December 1884. He is the son of Robert and Matilda Ostler Blackett.
